Loving God . . .  Loving Others

The reaching out with Christís love and truth takes a number of different forms at Bethany:

Since 2000, the New Beginnings Loft has been serving the community by providing a low-cost, safe facility for retreats and youth events.  Bethany Evangelical Church purchased the Loft in the fall of 2010 with the desire to continue this ministry to churches and non-profit groups. Bethany Evangelical Church meets at the Loft every Sunday morning for worship, teaching and childrenís church. The Loft is also home to The Refuge Youth Ministry, a partnership of 3 churches working together to intervene in the lives of at-risk teenagers.  Meetings are held every Sunday night at 6:00 PM at the Loft.

This local missions trip began in 2010 and involved serving our community by completing various projects at Project SHARE, Carlisle CARES, Carlisle Parks and Recreation, as well as the homes of the elderly. The youth stay at New Beginnings Loft and enjoy times of fellowship, praise and worship, teaching, and other activities.

Since 2001, George Young and former Pastor Don Herb, along with a host of volunteers, have been providing vehicles and auto repairs to the poor of Cumberland County.  Originally started in Georgeís garage, the full-time ministry now occupies a facility on N. College St. in Carlisle. They work with Project Share and other organizations in Carlisle, but they also function as a regular garage for those who can afford it. At His Hands, as a PA inspection facility, they do inspections and general maintenance like oil changes and lubes, as well as routine auto repairs to mufflers, brakes, suspension, steering, tires, lights, and motor repairs, such as starters, alternators, power steering and brakes, water pumps, etc. Any donations (of time, money, services, or automobiles) will be gratefully accepted and will help in this worthy ministry.
